Grandparents have a special role in the lives of their grandchildren. This is what we remembered at Royalmont's recent Grandparent's Day Celebration. The day began with an all-school Mass. In his homily, Fr. John spoke about how our faith is passed on from generation to generation and that we really have our grandparents to thank for handing down the faith and teaching us to love Christ and the Church.
Following Mass, grandparents visited the classrooms and spent quality time with their grandchildren. Younger students played games or made crafts with their grandparents, while our Upper School students prepared some activities for their special visitors. 6th grade students taught their grandparents a Spanish lesson. 7th grade students worked with their grandparents to make and launch rockets made from 2-liter pop bottles. 8th grade students prepared a picture slideshow and shared about their recent class trip to Washington D.C.
Following classroom visits and a delicious lunch, grandparents were treated to a special presentation of songs from our recent Easter Concert.
Grandparents Day a special day for students and grandparents alike. In addition to many locals, grandparents joined us from out of state, including: Texas, Louisianna, Florida, New Mexico, Virginia, South Carolina, and Nevada.
